Opioid OD hospital admissions drop..except in Fayette County.. report says

As Fayette County continues to use the FACT buses to transport patients to Greene County riding past New Seasons treatment center………..

Fayette hospitalizations increased the past two years, from 37 in 2016 to 42, then 44. Fayette’s rate per 100,000 residents in 2018 was 40.0, third-worst in Pennsylvania

Fayette County, where the poverty rate is about 50% higher than the state average, saw residents’ hospitalizations for opioid overdoses increase from 33.2 per 100,000 in 2016 to 40 last year. It was the only county in the region that includes Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland to see that number increase. “There is a saying that addiction thrives in communities that don’t,” Martin said.
